So…I’ve decided that my current eye cream is good, but I’m not 100% happy. This has led me on a quest to find the best eye cream for women of 50. Below you’ll find results based on products compiled from other reviews throughout the year. I will then reveal which product I have purchased.
I’ve also broken them down by category since some of us have particular concerns that may far outweigh others. This way, you can hone in on the area that you battle with the most.
I’m only listing products that are for day and night. There are products specifically made for night if you’re wanting to go the extra mile, but I’m trying to keep it simple today.
Now…let’s take a look and see what’s out there.
The Best Overall Eye Cream
The best overall cream is one that will target all concerns of wrinkles, dark circles, puffiness and bags.
RoC Retinol Correxion Anti-Aging Eye Cream
This cream is designed for the delicate skin around the eyes. In 4 weeks you should see a visible reduction in puffiness and dark eyes. In 12 weeks you should see a reduction in fine lines and crow’s feet. This cream is non greasy and can be used daily, both day and night.
This cream is available at Amazon in .5 fl. oz. for $15.99. BUY HERE
RoC Retinol Correxion Anti-Aging Eye Cream for Sensitive Skin
As a reminder from previous posts, those with sensitive skin may have a reaction to retinol. Anyone using retinol for the first time should test it and slowly increase the frequency of use. Try using it twice a week, then every other day, then daily.
The good news is that there is a version of this product for sensitive skin. This product is designed for those sensitive to retinol or those that have never used retinol. It contains a milder retinol formula and also contains hyaluronic acid to help hold moisture.
This cream is available at Amazon in .5 fl. oz. for $17.09. BUY HERE
Supergoop! Advanced Anti-Aging Eye Cream
Here’s another product for sensitive skin just in case you want to stay clear of retinol. This product contains oat peptides and has SPF 37. It is paraben, oxybenzone, and fragrance free.
This cream is available at Amazon in .5 fl. oz. for $32.00. BUY HERE
The Best for Dark Circles
Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Cream
This one sounds good enough to eat! But I chose this one because I saw it listed multiple times as the best for dark circles. This cream contains vitamin C and collagen.
This cream is available at Amazon in .5 fl. oz. for $45.00. BUY HERE
The Best for Wrinkles
Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado
This one sounds like it belongs on your grocery list as well. This product also showed up on multiple lists as one of the best for wrinkles. In addition to avocado it contains beta-carotene and Shea butter. It is designed for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
This cream is available at Amazon in .5 fl. oz. for $42.99. BUY HERE
The Best for Puffiness
Fresh Black Tea Firming and De-Puffing Eye Cream
This product must be really good because it also is a favorite among reviewers. Along with reducing puffiness, it also works to reduce dark circles and revive tired eyes. This cream contains black tea, blackberry leaf extract and lychee seed extract. It helps fight against damaging free radicals and improve skins elasticity. This product leaves skin firmer, smoother, more vibrant, and younger looking around the eye area.
This cream is available at Amazon in .5 fl. oz. for $59.75. BUY HERE
The Best for Bags
Dr. Brandt Needles No More Baggage Eye De-Puffing Gel
So, you may be asking about now what is the difference between puffiness and bags under the eye area. Puffiness is temporary and usually caused by allergies or water retention from too much salt or alcohol. Bags are a combination of fat protrusion and sagging skin. Bags are also genetic.
If you’ve determined that you have bags instead of puffiness then this product is for you. The benefits of using this product include the reduction of bags, puffiness and dark circles. It also restores a smoother appearance and youthful eye contour.
This cream is available at Amazon in .5 fl. oz. for $31.40. BUY HERE
The Best Value
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Eye Gel Cream
I post this category with some hesitancy because I wonder what is really meant by “best value”. Is that a nice phrase for cheaper? I say that cheap is just that…cheap. I prefer less expensive, so we’ll go with that.
This cream Contains hyaluronic acid (good point in my opinion) and is dermatologist recommended…probably because it is oil and fragrance free. This cream is designed to smooth skin around the eye area. The water gel formula works to absorb quickly to hydrate skin all day. I didn’t see any mention of reducing dark circles and puffiness/bags, so it must mostly work on wrinkles.

What is My Choice You Ask?
I have decided to give the RoC Retinol Correxion Anti-Aging Eye Cream for Sensitive Skin a go. Although my biggest concerns are wrinkles and crepe skin, I do have some darkness between my nose and inner eye area. I also have a bit of puffiness under my eyes in the morning. The skin around my eyes is sensitive, thus the sensitive skin option.
There are some really good options here, so take a minute to evaluate which concern is greater for you. Or maybe you’re like me and want to tackle all of these issues.
Either way, just remember that any product is going to take time to work. Sometimes you can start to see changes in your skin right away, but real results take time. Always pay attention to reviews and the amount of time they allow. Discount the ones who say they tried it for two weeks and didn’t see results.
I hope this review has been helpful for you. I’m excited about getting in my new eye cream and trying it out.
Please leave me a comment or question and I’ll be happy to respond. Have you used any of the products? Are you going to try any of these creams? Just let me know.
Happy hunting on this journey for the best skincare over 50!
Until next time…
